ISSUE:

Evergreen Public School district is failing to provide students with the strong academic foundation they deserve. While the district boasts a high graduation rate (91.7%), too many students are falling short in English Language Arts, Math, and Science. A contributor to this decline has been the removal of school librarians, who are professionals whom play a vital role in helping children discover books that educate, engage, and spark a lifelong love of learning. Parents and community members are rightly frustrated and calling for change.

SOLUTION:

Evergreen Public Schools must return to a focus on academic excellence rooted in solid instruction across all core subjects. At minimum, we should return elementary school librarians who can guide young students to books that both teach and delight, supporting strong literacy from the earliest grades. The district must also reject nonsense being quietly introduced by woke educators (ideological content that does nothing to prepare students for success) and instead restore time-tested teaching practices that work. By putting student achievement first and prioritizing proven strategies over political agendas, Evergreen can build a stronger future for every child. Back to Basics.
